Shhh, It’s Our Little Secret

It all started last Friday when The Age published some of the contents of a secret police report written by Sergeant Kevin Carson and then came the extraordinary interview with Deputy Police Commissioner Graham Ashton on Neil Mitchell’s program on 3AW, the allegation is and the police certainly believe that the catholic church even today is protecting paedophiles and not reporting their knowledge of sexual offending to the police.

Autism Awareness Month

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that affects one in every 110 Australian children (and possibly more according to recent studies) but so little is known about it in the broader community.

This month is Autism Awareness Month and it was my pleasure to help a group of local mums who have autistic children raise some awareness, and it was quite a learning experience. Read more…

ANZAC Day Under PC Attack

When does political correctness go too far? A recent report commissioned by the federal government and prepared by firm Colmar Brunton suggests that ANZAC Day celebrations planned for the 100th anniversary in 2015 could cause division within Australia’s multicultural society.

The report states “Commemorating our military history in a multicultural society is something of a double-edged sword, While 100th anniversaries are thought to provide some opportunity for creating a greater sense of unity, it is also recognised as a potential area of divisiveness.” Read more…
